DPSST SECURITY TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION
OREGON DPSST ARMED AND UNARMED SECURITY PROFESSIONAL TRAINING
To become any type of security professional in the state of Oregon you are required to be certified by the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards & Training. At NWDA we offer the classes necessary for individuals seeking a career in security as an armed or unarmed security professional.
UNARMED SECURITY PROFESSIONALS
Certification Course and Refresher Courses are available.
Individuals who seek to be certified as unarmed security professionals by the Oregon DPSST are required to complete standardized training. Over two 8-hour classroom days, our NWDA instructors will deliver not only the material required by the state but additional material such as the most recent best practices and practical applications based on the experience of our instructors in the field to optimize the performance of unarmed security professionals following their initial certification.
To be eligible for participation, candidates must meet certain criteria. Specifically, they must be at least 18 years of age and possess one of the following qualifications: a General Educational Development (GED) certificate, a high school diploma, or a higher-level certification or degree.
ARMED SECURITY PROFESSIONALS

Armed security professionals in the state of Oregon must receive standardized training; it’s the law. NWDA’s instructors however are not only going to teach the required material they are also going to give you the benefit of their years of experience in the field teaching you what you need to know to keep your client and you as protected as possible within the scope of the law.
This class is a total of 24 hours of training delivered over three days. Two days will be classroom instruction. Classroom training materials will be provided by NWDA. The third day will be on the range demonstrating and honing skills before shooting the qualifier for state certification.
